A BRIEF HISTORY
The Portland Maine Comedy Festival started as a small but mighty attempt by local comedian Ian Stuart in the summer of 2016. Seven shows over three days, the attendance doubled the projected figures and the festival was a success. The 2016 PMCF included festival headliners Shane Torres, Ben Kronberg and Luis Ramey.
2017 saw the festival expand into more shows, more comedians and more headliners. Twelve shows over three days, the festival included national touring comedians Doug Stanhope, Andy Andrist, Dan Boulger and Casey Crawford. The Festival was the cover story for The Portland Phoenix in their July 1st issue.
2018 was just insane. Over 100 comedians performed over five days on over thirty shows at ten different venues. National comedians included Maria Bamford, Jackie Kashian, Brooks Wheelan and Ben Kronberg.
2019 performers include Dave Attell, Iliza Shlesinger and Corey Rodrigues. With over 100 comedians, from all over the country, slated to perform over two weeks.
